The key to success in almost every business is...
...getting great input from others who have already been down the same road. Here are some podcasts that have revolutionized the way I look at my business
#1 – StartUp Podcast (Gimlet Media)
Summary: a podcast about starting a podcast company that reports on a podcast company. Very meta. Very entertaining.
#2 – The Tim Ferris Show
Summary: Efficiency. Find the shortest path to any goal.
#3 – Freakonomics
Summary: unintended consequences. You can't predict what results your efforts will have.
#4 – EconTalk
Summary: companies and people operate according to incentives.
#5 – How To Start A Startup
Only frustrated that I didn't find it sooner. So many authors of so many great books summarizing them so well could have saved me so much time if I would have found this podcast before reading the books.
In conclusion
There are literally hundreds of "Entrepreneur" podcasts out there. I've heard many of them. They suck. These entertaining podcasts are unexpectedly helpful because rather than pumping the audience full of hot air and regurgitated advice, they take the audience out of thinking directly about their business and look at it more globally and from an outsider's perspective.
